REGIONAL MEETS FOR PALARONG PAMBANSA 2017

These are the following schedules of the eighteen (18) regional meets all over the Philippines whose winners will represent their respective regions in the annual and largest multi-sporting event in the country, Palarong Pambansa 2017 to be held in San Jose de Buenavista, Antique in from April 23 - 29, 2017.

Palarong Pambansa 2016 Final And Official Medal Tally Results and Special Awards

This is the official and final medal tally results of Palarong Pambansa 2016 in Legazpi City, Albay as of April 17, 2016 11:18 am. As expected, NCR or National Capital Region is the over-all champion in the regular sports with 104 Golds, 57 Silver and 48 Bronze, Second is Region IV-A or CALABARZON with 40 Golds, 43 Silver and 59 Bronze while settling for Third is Region VI - Western Visayas with 35 Golds, 35 Silver and 39 Bronze.

Palarong Pambansa 2016 Albay

The 59th edition of the Palarong Pambansa, an annual multi-sporting event for Filipino student-athletes will take place from April 10 - 16, 2016 in Legazpi City, Albay. At least 8,000 athletes from both elementary and high school who were regional winners from all 18 regions of the Philippines including the newly created Negros Island Region (NIR) will compete for 21 sports discipline, regular sports and special events with 610 gold medals at stake. President Benigno S. Aquino III was invited to be the guest of honor and speaker during the opening ceremony of the event while sports newscaster TJ Manotoc will be one of the master of ceremonies along with Leah Dado and Jeremy Cruz. Globalport players Terrence Romeo and Roi Sumang will lead the torchbearers along with SPED Students. Miss Universe 2010 4th runner-up Venus Raj will host the governor's night on April 9 at Bicol University Astrodome.

Palarong Pambansa Official media partners, ABS-CBN Sports and Action (Channel 23) and HD will cover through the entire duration of the games from the opening ceremonies to the main games and the closing ceremonies while online news portal Rappler will give a blow by blow updates for the games.

The opening ceremonies will start at 4 p.m. and will be aired at 7 p.m. on ABS-CBN Sports and Action (Channel 23) and HD. Games of various sports will be shown on ABS-CBN Sports + Action starting 4 p.m. until 6 p.m., except on UAAP game days, on which they will be aired on primetime. Their schedule is as follows:

The Palarong Pambansa (Filipino for "National Games") is an annual multi-sport event involving student-athletes from 18 regions of the Philippines. The event, started in 1948, is organized and governed by the Department of Education or DepEd.

Student-athletes from public and private schools at elementary and secondary levels can compete provided they qualified by winning at their regional meet. For young Filipino student-athletes, Palarong Pambansa is the culmination of school sports competition, which starts with local school intramurals, followed by the district, division, and regional athletic meets.
