Puerto Rico's Valerie Hernandez Crowned Miss International 2014







Tokyo, Japan - A woman of color Carolina, Puerto Rico native model Valerie Hernandez Matias was declared Miss International 2014. The visibly surprised and shaken in tears 21-year-old lass beats 72 other contestants to win the 54th edition of the pageant held at the New Takanawa Grand Prince Hotel in Tokyo. She was crowned by the reigning Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago from the Philippines. Another woman of color Colombia's Zuleika Kiara Suarez is 1st runner-up.  Here's the complete result:
