Spain's FIFA World Cup 2010 Players

I was awed by the ups and downs of the Spanish team during last month's FIFA World Cup 2010 competing against the best in the world. Until now, it does not sink in to me that they really are the winners of FIFA World Cup 2010 held in South Africa. With  Euro Championship 2008 to boost their performance, who could've believe they will be overwhelmed by their performance in the past that they forgot the essentials of the game until they were beaten once and their world went upside down. From that, they learned their lessons well and tune up their mind and body for the game and prepare themselves for anything that might happen in an unpredictable sports.Just in time when their head coach Vicente del Bosque do wonders, calibrate and set up an exemplary performance of the team in its shining glory this year at FIFA World Cup 2010. The adage' "Don't rest on your laurels is true it might led to your downfall but rather play your game well. I wonder how and what they (Spain's 2010 FIFA World Cup players) become after the games. I am interested to know about them well and if lucky, meet them personally.

Millenium I Century 1

Decade II Year 1

In the year of doubled millennium and two dozen, there sprout in growing numbers a disease of leprosy like.
It swells and itchy and affects the blood, some other die.
Those who suffers for awhile will recover
And those who will not suffer for awhile will experience a pain waiting after it.

 Year 2

A large cat of northeast foresees the growth of its kittens.
The kittens will foreplay & engage in a pretentious war.
One white is wounded or hurt, the results is laughter.
All that starts well, ends well.

 Year 3

A small quail island shall be surprised by a flock of quails temporarily landed.
People of fifty thousand will eat the meat of the most then suffer an allergic disease.
For three months, when most are sick, the birds will fly away from the island where no more
Left.
In such time when there are more leftovers and some are buried, people will recover.

 Year 4

In decade of double millennium, dangers will await those sinners and atheists.
Group of Christ hater with a black cloak similar to those of the monks with numbers 969 &
Others spread like fire in many countries even those revered ones.
Shall kill & sacrifice the wicked & sinners but cannot go near and avoid the strong faithful.
Some quite little faithful shall be tempted beware of a small trap.
Remain strong and renew your faith in Christ.

 Year 5

In third millennium, a building will be made to transfer from here to there,
News & information shall be received by high technology
All shall live easy but not happy.

Maria Venus Raj Fans Got Frenzy

Look at the four of the many fans of Philippines' pride and Miss Universe 2010 4th runner up, Maria Venus Raj mixed reactions few seconds after the top 15 semifinalists were announced. This is how fiery the furnace Maria Venus Raj caused to stir not only among Filipinos around the world but also people of different races around the world!

Miss Universe 2010 An Event To Behold

Congratulations to the new Miss Universe 2010, Jimena Navarette of Mexico. I am very happy for you because you deserve the title and you are a beautiful woman worthy of emulation.I just want to remind the Mexicans why they waited for so long to have their 2nd title is that they are rowdy, messy, ill mannered and rude even ranting and jeering against other competitive delegates most especially the United States delegate because remember Miss Universe is solely owned by the Americans so they should behave as pleasant as possible if they want to be treated as such and if they want MUO will be more kind to them. I am also grateful to the MUO under the leadership of Mr. Donald Trump and Ms. Paula Shugart for such a tremendous job and more productive successful years to come and also the same to the host Bret Michaels & Natalie Morales and to all the judges whose difficult task subjects them to heavy criticism thank you.
But most of all, I am very happy and elated by the outstanding performance of Philippines’ pride Maria Venus Bayonito Raj in the Miss Universe 2010 where she ended as 4th runner up. Here’s a woman who, as a young girl, fond of watching beauty pageants, dressed and act like a beauty queen and wondering how to join the most loved beauty pageant. Aside from that trivial information, she made headlines for her inspirational story of how she fights for what is right and what belongs to her. She was dethroned as Binibining Pilipinas-Universe and the right to represent the country in Miss Universe due to her birth place inconsistencies but later reinstated because she proved that she is a Filipino. Despite the fact that you only ended as 4th runner up or top 5 in the prestigious pageant, we are still proud, love and support you and our prayers were answered because you put an end to a 10 year drought of the Philippines in the established and well respected competition. Her awkward answer to the question by a judge, actor William Baldwin generated lots of mixed reactions over the web and among beauty pageant watchers. The controversial question was like: “What is your biggest mistake in life and what did you do to correct it and she responded, “… In my 22 years of existence, I never made a major major mistake I mean a problem because I am confident and the love given to me by my loved ones is enough. Thank you very much.” This is just her safe response answer to the question because she is aware of the befitting answer which she can derive from her story of how she defends bravely against all odds but she made herself uttered a simple and safe answer to protect and respect the Bb. Pilipinas Charities, Inc., the local franchise of Miss Universe which reinstated her title. Where she exposed and boldly expressed her sentiments over her story on her road to Miss Universe, she could face lots of criticisms, threats even dethronement or stripping of her title and other repercussions she must face after her Miss Universe stint from the Philippine franchise holder. The local franchise, Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc is owned and chaired by Mrs. Stella Marquez Araneta, a Colombian who was herself a former beauty queen as 1960 Miss Universe semifinalist and first Miss International 1960. We still love you Maria Venus Raj because we know you’ve done a great job and you’ve done all you best without harming yourself and your loved protected from the threats if you’ve done the otherwise. What was the biggest reason for our exaltation for you is that you save the face of the Philippines from a bad limelight due to some tragedy happened in the last few days, the accidents and the bloody hostage taking of a police in a bus full of tourists and some Filipinos which took the lives of 6 Hong Kong natives and you offer the competition to your best friend and mentor who convinced you to join Miss Philippines and Miss Universe when you should’ve pursued your career as a flight stewardess. Maria Venus Raj’s mom is the happiest person in the Philippines for achieving such a magnanimous performance. She applied for a passport and tried to secure a visa so she can travel to Las Vegas, Nevada, USA to support her beautiful daughter but unfortunately, it was too late for her to come because it takes awhile for her visa be processed. Thanks for the generous, supportive and loving Filipinos who paid her expenses and willing to help her travel to USA for the first time because they were just poor and cannot afford such a luxury. I will also give credits to the strong showing of the rest of the 63 candidates who didn’t make the cut but gave us a breathtaking and glamorous show by their presence. Here’s a toast to all of you!

Miss Universe 2010 Jimena Navarette portrait

Mexico's Newest Idol and Sensation Jimena Navarette is Miss Universe 2010

LAS VEGAS (AP) – From flags to Facebook, 22-year-old Jimena Navarrete has quickly made it clear what she plans to promote as the world's newest Miss Universe — her home country of Mexico.

"I want the whole world to know about my country and my people," the Guadalajara native said after beating 82 competitors for global bragging rights at the pageant in Las Vegas.

"I imagine that they're all going crazy in Mexico right now," she said through an interpreter. "I'm extremely proud and I'm sure they're very proud, too."

She donned a flowing red dress, strutted confidently in a violet bikini, and said onstage that the Internet is indispensable and requires parents to impart family values.

The model-turned pageant queen then posed for pictures with a Mexican flag and Mexico's last Miss Universe as congratulations from her countrymen came pouring in.

"Her triumph is a source of pride and satisfaction for all Mexicans, who see in her the fruits of perseverance," Mexican President Felipe Calderon said in a statement. Immediately after her win, Calderon said on Twitter that her victory would help Mexico's image as a country.

"We won, long live Mexico!" Navarrete said on her fan page on Facebook, spurring 478 "likes" and 218 comments in about one hour.

She was cheered by Spanish-speaking reporters clamoring to talk with her after the pageant, and twice answered questions about Arizona's recent immigration law.

"Every country has the right to impose and enact their laws," she said, wearing her new sash and sparkling tiara. "But I tell you that all the Mexicans and the Latins that are living here in the United States are hardworking people — people who want to improve on their quality of life."

The Miss Universe pageant is known for grabbing headlines — and Navarrete appears ready to make her mark.

She's Mexico's second Miss Universe. Lupita Jones — Navarrete's national pageant director — won in 1991. Navarrete has been modeling since she was 15 and came to Miss Universe after winning for Jalisco, then Mexico, in the country's Nuestra Belleza pageant.

Navarrete replaces Miss Universe 2009 Stefania Fernandez of Venezuela. She also spoiled a bid by Miss Venezuela Marelisa Gibson from giving the South American country a third consecutive victory. Neither Gibson nor Miss USA Rima Fakih made the top 15 finalists.

With fans in some 190 countries watching on television and keeping tabs on social networks, Navarrete and her competitors introduced themselves while wearing over-the-top national costumes. They then danced in silver and black dresses for the show's opening number before the last 15 finalists were announced.

The final 15 walked in swimsuits while Cirque du Soleil musicians played Elvis Presley songs including "Viva Las Vegas." The last 10 impressed in their gowns while John Legend and the Roots played a soulful medley including "Save Room."

By the end of the show, seven of the top 10 trending topics on Twitter had to do with the pageant, its contestants, its judges or owner Donald Trump. The mogul co-owns the pageant with TV network NBC.

The show was without any major gaffes, except for Miss Philippines' answer when asked what her biggest mistake in life was and how she fixed it.

"In my 22 years of existence, I can say there is nothing major," Venus Raj said.

Before the pageant, Raj was rated among the top contestants in an online poll on the pageant's website. She finished in fifth place.

Asked by Olympic gold-medal figure skater Evan Lysacek how she felt about unsupervised Internet use, Navarrete said the Internet is important.

"I do believe that Internet is an indispensable, necessary tool for the present time," she said through an interpreter. "We must be sure to teach them the values that we learned as a family."

Lysacek was one of this year's nine celebrity judges. The others were actresses Jane Seymour and Chynna Phillips; actors Chazz Palminteri and William Baldwin; magician Criss Angel; MSNBC anchor Tamron Hall; drummer Sheila E.; and supermodel Niki Taylor.

Navarrete won a package of prizes including an undisclosed salary, a luxury New York apartment with living expenses, a one-year scholarship to the New York Film Academy with housing after her reign, plus jewelry, clothes and shoes fit for a beauty champion.

Campbell won the Miss Congeniality Universe award. Miss Thailand Fonthip Watcharatrakul won Miss Photogenic Universe and a second award for having the best national costume.

First runner-up was Miss Jamaica Yendi Phillipps, while second runner-up was Miss Australia Jesinta Campbell.

Fakih, a 24-year-old Lebanese immigrant from Dearborn, Mich., spurred celebrations among Arab-Americans when she won Miss USA. Pageant records aren't detailed enough to show whether Fakih is the first Arab-American, Muslim or immigrant to win Miss USA.

Miss USA has not been named Miss Universe since Brook Lee won the title in 1997.

After his relatives, kin, wives and husbands shall separate and divorce, Finding another partner shall see in poverty and despair

Words Soup for the Soul

“You are not one of the reasons why life is worth living, not one of the reason why I’m happy all day long, neither why I’ll never feel alone – you’ll never be one of the reasons, cause you’ll always be the only reason.” “I was born with a heart, like the rest of us do have, but just recently I found it in half. Could you please check your heart? It might be holding my missing half.” “Learn to love the person who is with you at present. Forget the person in the past and thank him instead for hurting you which lead you to love the person you have right now.” “Angels don’t only have wings, they have mobile phones too that’s why this angels of yours is texting you right now, greeting you a warm hello and wishing you a blessed day.” “Mornings are best part of the day! It’s a sign that God loves you by giving us another day to live and glorify Him! A chance to greet our friends, good morning.”

Bituing Walang Ningning / Lackluster Star Song Lyrics and English Translation

The song is sung by Miss Sharon Cuneta, a local Philippine actress and was the official theme song of the movie of the same title. I love the song so deep, so enthralling that makes me sob and teary eyed. You can sing the song if you want. Here is the music video of the song with the lyrics and some scenes from the movie. Included also here is the English translation of the lyrics. It is the official theme song of the movie of the same title "Bituing Walang Ningning" which was released in 1985 starring Sharon Cuneta, Christopher De Leon, Cherry Gil, Joel Torre, Tommy Abuel, Chanda Romero and the late Jay Ilagan among others.

Bituing Walang Ningning
by Sharon Cuneta

Kung minsan ang pangarap
Habambuhay itong hinahanap
Bakit nga ba nakapagtataka
'Pag ito ay nakamtan mo na
Bakit may kulang pa

Mga bituin aking narating
Ngunit langit ko pa rin ang iyong piling
Kapag tayong dalawa'y naging isa
Kahit na ilang laksang bituin
'Di kayang pantayan ating ningning

CHORUS 1
Balutin mo ako ng hiwaga ng iyong pagmamahal
Hayaang matakpan ang kinang na 'di magtatagal
Mabuti pa kaya'y maging bituing walang ningning
Kung kapalit nito'y walang paglaho mong pagtingin

CHORUS 2
Itago mo ako sa lilim ng iyong pagmamahal
Limutin ang mapaglarong kinang ng tagumpay
Sa piling mo ngayon ako'y bituing walang ningning
Nagkukubli sa liwanag ng ating pag-ibig

[Repeat 2nd Stanza]
[Repeat CHORUS 1]
[Repeat REFRAIN 2 except last line]

Nagkukubli sa liwanag at kislap ng ating pag-ibig

English Translation

Sometimes the dream
Is a lifelong search
Why is it a wonder
When you got it
Why is it not enough

The stars I've reached
But heaven is still being with you
When two of us become one
Even a thousand stars
Cannot equal by our brilliance

CHORUS 1

Wrap me in your enchanting love

Let it cover the glitter that will not last
It's better to be a star without its brilliance
If it would mean your love would last forever

CHORUS 2

Hide me in the shadow of your love

Forget the playful / deceiving brilliance of success
With you now I'm a star without glitter
Hiding in the light of our love

[Repeat 2nd Stanza]

[Repeat CHORUS 1]
[Repeat REFRAIN 2 except last line]

Hiding in the brightness and brilliance of our love

Another Version of the English Translation

Sometimes you search for your dreams
It takes your whole life to find it
But doesn't it make you wonder
When you finally achieve your dream
Why does it seem like something is still missing

I have reached the stars
But heaven is still being with you
When the two of us become one
Even a thousand stars would never outshine us

Wrap me in your enchanting love
Let it keep inside the glitter that may not last
I would rather be a star without its brilliance
If it would mean your love would last forever

Hide and shelter me in your love
Forget the deceiving brilliance of success
With you I am a star without a spark
Hidden by the brightness and glitter
of the love we now share

Miss Universe 2010 My Favorite Best in National Costumes

Miss Universe heat is on and everyone has their own favorites and rooting for their delegates. Though this year has been a bleak year for this once proud and prestigious pageant, it has been dwindling in popularity and prestige because commercialism and politics has been a major factor in the contest when the billionaire Donald Trump enter the picture. Yet extensive promotion and marketing of the pageant make it survive and resuscitated back to life somehow. I am also saddened by its fading prominence but I can't help but just have fun to its excitement by making my own predictions and wild guesses of who can make it because in the previous years I guessed some of the delegates correctly who made it as semifinalists or have received the coveted special awards so here I am making my own list of favorites. I'll also post my final favorites of top 20 favorites for the Miss Universe crown after the preliminary competition.
One of the coveted special awards of the pageant is the best in national costume wherein candidates wear a unique dress which best represent its country of origin. Here's my favorite picks for the Best in National Costume award.

Miss Universe 2010 My Favorite Best in National Costumes No 1

1. Colombia - Natalia Navarro

Miss Universe 2010 My Favorite Best in National Costumes 2 - 5

2. USA - Rima Fakih

3. Thailand - Fonthip Wacharatrakul

4. Korea - Joori Kim

5. Curacao - Safira de Wit

6. Bahamas - Braneka Bassett
