One of comedian Chiquito's nickname was Gorio. This was his popular character's name in some of his films from the 1962 Pablo Santiago's film Gorio and his Jeepney to Goriong Butete (1990) even up to a Biblical 1996 Filipino film Kristo where he played a fictitious character of Gorio.

In the 1966 film Alias Popeye, Dolphy played the character of a skinny sailor who becomes strong after eating kangkong leaves and fights a burly bearded man.
