(Play the music below while reading this)

This article is part of my series celebrating the first one hundred years of Filipino filmmaking.

There are already a handful of favorite lists and top lists of Filipino films made by both movie fans and film critics of what they think are really good films and memorable films to watch. There are a number of Filipino films that often come out of their list thus making them must-see films however I rarely see some articles listing our great talents, our Filipino film stars who brought to life characters to the screen. Hence, this is my attempt of honoring the greatest Filipino film stars of all time after some years of research and polls I came up with this list.

100 Greatest Filipino Film Stars provides a definitive selection of the 100 Greatest Filipino Film Stars of All-Time (50 actors and 50 actresses). Many are considered legends, and although many of them are from the Golden Years of Filipino Cinema, some are also living legends. In each case, the stars are listed with their Best Films.

These are the 100 great Filipino film stars who are unranked (50 actors and 50 actresses) and listed alphabetically by their last names and can be considered the "greatest Filipino film stars of all time."

There are factors in consideration to be included and enlisted in the Watchful Eyes Of A Silhouette blog as great which include the following:

1. body of work (minor and major roles and pictures)
2. acting range
3. historical importance and popularity
4. degree of skill
5. awards

There are the classic undisputable stars such as Susan Roces, Amalia Fuentes, Lolita Rodriguez, Nida Blanca, Fernando Poe Jr., Leopoldo Salcedo, Rogelio de la Rosa, Eddie Garcia, and then lesser-known film legends such as Tony Santos Sr., Marlene Dauden, Van de Leon, and Eddie del Mar.
